How to roll a D10
This 10-sided dice roller starts with one die and 10 sides. Choose a count from 1 to 100 and a modifier, then roll. Every die is sampled independently.
D10 range and average
One unmodified D10 ranges from 1 to 10. Its expected face value is 5.5. For several dice, multiply that average by the count and add your modifier once.
| Roll | Lowest | Highest | Average |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1d10 | 1 | 10 | 5.5 |
| 2d10 | 2 | 20 | 11 |
| 3d10 | 3 | 30 | 16.5 |
| 4d10 | 4 | 40 | 22 |
| 5d10 | 5 | 50 | 27.5 |
| 10d10 | 10 | 100 | 55 |
Read the face before the modifier
The raw result is the number on the die. The total includes the modifier. Keep them separate when your game distinguishes a natural face from a modified total.
About the D10
Physical ten-sided dice are often numbered 0 to 9 and read 0 as 10. This roller always shows 1 to 10. Two D10s are traditionally read as tens and units for a percentage; here you can roll a D100 directly on the main dice roller.
Try another die
Use the main dice roller for other sizes, including D3, D7 and D100. For D20 advantage or disadvantage, open the D&D dice roller. Nearby sizes: the D8 dice roller and D12 dice roller.
